My Writings & Projects
This is a brief sample of some of my writings and projects during my years of academia.

01
Transformation
Transformation was a collage I designed to represent who I am now, my journey, and what inspires me.
02
The Art of Love
A crumpled paper hand
brushed against a familiar face.
A gaze across an empty room
sees a smile from years ago.
The walk you’d know a block away,
the pace much slower now.
I remember when
we made love on mountain tops.
And camped in the rain.
And dreamed of the sea.
Laughter echoes in my mind
from children long since grown.
The chest is overflowing
with paper memories.
Evenings once filled with sums and verbs
now squandered, drab and empty
.
I remember when
we were amazed at a fawn.
And talked for hours.
And dreamed of the sea.

Take my hand and walk with me
wherever this new road takes us.
Hold me tight and keep me close
to shelter me from winter.
Kiss me once before you sleep
and tell me that you love me.
I remember when
we went to bed at dawn.
And slept till noon.
And dreamed of the sea.

Spirals
Artist’s Statement
By Donna Holmes
Spirals are the code with which God writes the universe – repeated in swarming suns, twirling flowers, galaxies, and shells – predictable, infinite.

First foray into silversmithing,
chase and repose'. and enameling.
